Album Two
“Visit of Captain Arthur Enderlin”
Black binder, inlay
11″x15″
1962
South Korea
The album is unique for many reasons. First, it is not a leather album and is also the most ornate with a mother of pearl inlay against a gloss black surface. The album itself was a gift from the government of South Korea to Captain Arthur Enderlin. The images are all glossy black and white prints, measuring approximately 8×10. These images not taken by Captain Arthur Enderlin, is apparent because he is in most of them with other Senior officials and the style of photography is more photo-journalistic like that of a newspaper photographer and not the personal visual snapshot style of Captain Enderlin that is evidenced in the previous albums. These photographs on glossy resin coated paper are in the best condition since they are not more 60 years old. The pages of the album have a protective sheet to keep the images from any contact damage.
