In the beginning pages of Album Three we witness Captain Enderlin’s sense of humor. “Duffy The Dinosaur,” is posed and captioned humorously. We continually and more apparently see more of the people that he worked with and toured the various ports with. This may be because he was primarily stationed in Panama and Costa Rica aboard the SS Finland and was not continually out at sea or at port for a short duration. As time progresses, and as one goes through the pages, we see more of the various radio equipment that Captain Enderlin worked with. Since his stay in these regions might have been longer, he began to look deeper into the local people. He connects more with his surrounding and becomes less of a snapshot taker on tour and more of an inquisitive documentarian. This black leather album with two rings and black sheets has a cleaner layout with fewer images per page. Some contain only one small centered image, a large almost full-page print or numerous pones that work together as a group. The beginning pages have the photographs tipped in using paste in photo corners and as a result are in a much healthier state with little fading or toning.
